SUPPORT RANDYS CAMPAIGN TODAY! Like many Michigan residents, I am frustrated with the counter-productive bickering and partisan fighting that has become “business as usual” in Lansing. We are facing serious problems and we need to work together to move Michigan forward. As an independent-minded, fiscally responsible Democrat, I will work hard to put the interests of the people ahead of those of any political party.
It is imperative that our state government take a more proactive role in making Michigan more attractive to businesses. That means revisiting our business tax code with an eye toward making it simpler and more equitable. Enhancing the business climate in Michigan goes beyond taxes, however. It means providing superior educational opportunities from grade school through college. It means maintaining our roads and providing other needed services. It means ensuring a healthy and sustainable natural environment. In short, it means creating a climate for success and making Michigan a more attractive place to live and do business.
I have over twenty years experience in business, teaching, and environmental science – as a Vice President of the Athena Group, an independent financial planning firm; as a college educator; and as an environmental scientist. I am also active in the community – as a long-time board member of the Clinton River Watershed Council, member of the Oakland County Solid Waste Planning Commission, and volunteer with the OPC, Paint Creek Center for the Arts, and Boy Scouts.
If you believe
